The show has run for over 5 years. It first aired on KHII radio in Alamogordo, NM. It is now produced at Studio 312 in Alamogordo. I have a couple of motivations behind the program. First, is that I am trying to bring back the nickel soda pop, not the beverage but rather the concept about the way of life we use to enjoy. When honesty and integrity were common traits and respect for your fellow man was just the norm. I also enforce the idea that maybe we could start bringing back the nickel soda pop by getting back to the basics of family values. Each show contains at least one segment that encourages folks to spend quality time with their kids. It’s so important to make lasting memories with them so that they in turn will understand how important to do the same with their own children. You, see when you spend time with your kids you are actually giving them time to see you in action and to see you lead by example.
I enjoy getting emails from my listeners. The program has a fan base not only across the United States, but throughout Europe and Australia as well! Listen in and rediscover the nickel soda pop!
I moved to southern New Mexico on June 1st, 2011! I have to tell you, I love it here. Living in the Tularosa Basin is like living in paradise…or pretty near close to it.
I was born in St. Louis, Missouri. When I was only 7 years old my dad (a pastor) moved us into Yankee territory (Swartz Creek, Michigan) where I and my 2 brothers and 2 sisters were raised. To make a long story short, I returned to Missouri when I was in my early 20’s where I worked in security, retail, and private investigations for several years. I later went to work as a county sheriff’s deputy and a municipal police officer. I ended the last four years of my “crime-fightin'” career as a police chief.
At the close of my career, I decided to move and start fresh in the west! I work during the day in a management position for a Fortune 500 company and on the weekend and various other times, your’s truly can be found live on the air hosting, “The Jason Curtman Show!”
